Vendor:  First American Self Storage Group, LLC and RJB-II Limited Partnership (together, “Grantor”)

 

Request:  Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into an easement agreement

 

Reason:  Grantor needs to add a turn lane on Golf Road, west of East River Road, for access to its development per Illinois Department of Transportation (“IDOT”) requirements. The turn lane will be constructed entirely within the IDOT right of way. Part of the Des Plaines River trail runs through the IDOT right of way at that location and will be relocated about 12 feet north onto Grantor’s property. The trail reconstruction will be done by Grantor at no cost to the Forest Preserves, and Grantor will donate a permanent trail easement to the Forest Preserves on Grantor’s property, to come over, under and upon the easement area to maintain, repair, reconstruct, replace, and use the trail for all customary uses of similar trails, including use by the general public. As part of the easement, the Forest Preserves will be permitted to trim, cut, remove or replace any vegetation on or alongside the trail within the easement area.

 

Contract period: Perpetual with the trail

 

Estimated Fiscal Impact: Not to Exceed $10.00
