Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE FOREST PRESERVES OF COOK COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE A LOCAL MATCH FOR GRANT AWARDED FOR THE DES PLAINES RIVER TRAIL SOUTHERN EXTENSION STUDY WHEREAS, on October 12, 2017 the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the "Forest Preserves") was awarded services from the Local Technical Assistance Program ("LTAP"), a federally and state-funded program administered by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning ("CMAP"), to facilitate a planning study for extending the Des Plaines River Trail from West 26th Street in North Riverside to Ogden Avenue in Lyons (hereafter the "Project"); and WHEREAS, as of June 14, 2018, CMAP and the Forest Preserves entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with respect to the Project (the "MOU"); WHEREAS, pursuant to such MOU, it is estimated that by year-end 2019, CMAP will have provided an estimated $107,000.00 in services to the Forest Preserves; and WHEREAS, in return for such services CMAP requires a contribution from the ...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

TO AUTHORIZE THE FOREST PRESERVES OF COOK COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE A LOCAL MATCH FOR GRANT AWARDED FOR THE DES PLAINES RIVER TRAIL SOUTHERN EXTENSION STUDY

 

 

WHEREAS, on October 12, 2017 the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) was awarded services from the Local Technical Assistance Program (“LTAP”), a federally and state-funded program administered by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (“CMAP”), to facilitate a planning study for extending the Des Plaines River Trail from West 26th Street in North Riverside to Ogden Avenue in Lyons (hereafter the “Project”); and

 

WHEREAS, as of June 14, 2018, CMAP and the Forest Preserves entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with respect to the Project (the “MOU”);

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to such MOU, it is estimated that by year-end 2019, CMAP will have provided an estimated $107,000.00 in services to the Forest Preserves; and

 

WHEREAS, in return for such services CMAP requires a contribution from the Forest Preserves in the amount of $15,000.00 to CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance Fund.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners hereby retroactively authorizes the execution of the MOU referenced above by the Forest Preserves’ Director of Planning and Development, and hereby also authorizes the Forest Preserves to make a local match contribution to CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance Fund in the amount of $15,000.00, from Consulting & Management Services accounts, 51009.520860, 51054.520860 and 51055.520860.
