Summary: The Facilities and Fleet Department received permission from the Vehicle Steering Committee on 4/23/2019 to decommission sixteen (16) Forest Preserve vehicles due to age and condition; and purchase sixteen (16) new vehicles to be assigned to the Landscape Maintenance and Resource Management Departments. This request will be funded with existing capital funds and is not associated with funds identified in the proposed GO bond request. Of the sixteen (16) vehicles, two (2) vehicles will be outfitted with hybrid electric engines and fourteen (14) vehicles will have dual fuel tank capability (propane/unleaded gas). The purchase of these vehicles will support the Forest Preserves sustainability goals and reduce greenhouse gas production.
