Summary: The Forest Preserves would like to exercise the second of two (2) one-year extension options to allow Bike and Roll Inc. to continue providing bicycle rental services at various Forest Preserves locations on a seasonal basis.
In 2018, 2,200 riders rented bicycles for 5,142 rides during the first year of the dockless expansion. During this second extension period, Bike and Roll, Inc. will continue to provide a dockless bicycle rental program at fifty (50) Forest Preserve locations. If there are consumer demands, the Forest Preserves and the vendor may agree on additional locations and an increased number of bikes available for rental. The Forest Preserves anticipates issuing an RFP in 2019 for bicycle rental services.
