PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING COMMISSIONER GREGG GOSLIN
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gregg Goslin, began his career on November 3, 1998 as a member of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners and served the Forest Preserves of Cook County with distinction for 20 years; and
WHEREAS, it is the mission of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County "to acquire, restore and manage lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving public open space with its natural wonders, significant prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and other landscapes with all of its associated wildlife, in a natural state for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public now and in the future;" and
WHEREAS, the Forest Preserves District of Cook County has an over one-hundred-year history, currently spans almost seventy thousand acres, shares over sixty million visits annually, and contributes immeasurably to the quality of life of residents of Cook County and scientific research and conservation, including public-private partnerships with the Brookfield Zoo and Chicago Botanic Garden; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gregg Goslin earned his bachelors' in Political Science and Secondary Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He furthered his studies by pursing a postgraduate degree in Real Estate and a Real Estate license; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gregg Goslin served as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, of the 89th General Assembly, additionally, he held many other Board positions within various committees as Green Government Initiative, Immigration Task Force, Telecommunications and Technology, National Association of Counties' Hospital Task Force, Health System Reform, Homeland Security Funding, Thomas Place Senior Housing, and to many other committees where his passion for efficiency, accountability, and the desire to ensure a fair share of quality resources were being provided to others directed him; and
