Summary: This is an amendment for an extension of time only. Said extension causes the overall project timing to exceed the term threshold for the contract, and it is now therefore being brought before the Board of Commissioners. The initial contract did not require approval by the Board of Commissioners because it did not exceed $150,000.00 or one (1) year in length.
Contract #17-31-111 consists of approximately 26.1 acres of tree and brush removal in accordance with the Forest Preserves specifications at a portion of Potawatomi Woods known as Portwine North in Northbrook, Illinois. The project is being funded through a mitigation account from the Illinois Tollway specifically for this project, which was designed in combination with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Due to inadequate conditions, the Forest Preserves is requesting an additional twelve (12) month contract extension to complete the work.
