Summary: Project #18-31-101 consists of comprehensive habitat enhancement services which encompass a variety of tasks, including the assessment and execution of land management work to restore the Forest Preserves natural habitat. Work will involve restoration at high quality sites which require a greater degree of specialization. Living Habitats submitted a proposal to provide environmental consultation services that will inform work to address issues including, but not limited to, invasive species management, prescribed burning, and ecological and hydrological assessment throughout the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves issued a Request for Proposals, and received a total of eight (8) responses for this project.
The Forest Preserves assembled a review panel which consisted of various Forest Preserve staff and outside experts that considered Living Habitats’ proposal one of the most responsive in terms of the consulting aspect, with particular strengths in experience, expertise, and performance capacity as it relates to the work as detailed in the specifications. Proposals were evaluated on their experience and expertise with similar projects, proposed approach, cost proposal, and capacity to perform all aspects of the work. Living Habitats is 1 of 4 vendors selected to perform services under this contract.
This contract will assist in advancing the goals of the Next Century Conservation Plan to restore 30,000 acres to ecological health.
