Request:  Authority to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the Village of Schaumburg (“Schaumburg”) for construction and maintenance of approximately 800 linear feet of paved trail in the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve from Central Road to the existing Paul Douglas Bicycle Trail.

 

Goods or Services:  The Forest Preserve District of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) operates and maintains the Paul Douglas Bicycle Trail in Northwestern Cook County. Summary:  Schaumburg is requesting an Intergovernmental Agreement to construct a portion of a trail connection along the north side of Central Road on Forest Preserves property.  Schaumburg has obtained funding for the design and construction of the trail segment.  The IGA constitutes a license for Schaumburg to construct and maintain the trail in perpetuity, subject to termination by the Forest Preserves after 10 years.
