Title: PROPOSED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County ("the Preserves") to enter into a Partnership Agreement with Friends of the Chicago River, Chicago, Illinois. Reason: Friends of the Chicago River has received a grant in the amount of $150,000.00 to support habitat improvement and repopulation efforts for at-risk populations of native turtles. The Preserves and Friends of the Chicago River will collaborate to restore approximately forty (40) acres of shoreline habitat by removing invasive brush and restoring the native vegetative structure at sites where turtles are impacted by habitat loss and degradation. Work will be conducted at sites including, but not limited to Wampum Lake Woods and Chipilly Woods. The project will be conducted at no direct cost to the Preserves, which will contribute through staff time and additional in-kind services.
