Request:  Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a Partnership Agreement with Friends of the Forest Preserves, Chicago Illinois.

 

Reason:  Friends of the Forest Preserves has obtained a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Great Lakes Restoration Initiative in the amount of $591,265.00 to be used to field a ten (10) member Calumet Conservation Corps program. The project will advance the Preserve’s Next Century Conservation Plan goal to mobilize people to heal and nurture the land.

 

Contract period:  Date of execution - 12/31/2019

 

Fiscal Impact: $30,000.00, plus $22,794.00 in-kind match
