Summary: Contract #14-31-108 consists of approximately two-hundred and fifty nine (259) acres of tree and brush removal at Dam 1 Woods, Portwine Woods, and Willow-Sanders in Northbrook, Illinois. Funding is provided through a mitigation account from the Illinois Tollway specifically for this project, which was designed in combination with the US Fish & Wildlife Service. The Preserves is requesting to exercise the option to extend the contract for an additional twenty-four (24) months to bring the project to completion. The project began in the winter of 2014, and approximately sixty (60) acres of removals remain.
