Summary: A contract extension is required due to the death of the Owner and the contractor going out of business. Approximately 50% of the work has been completed. The contact is being taken over by the contractor’s surety and a time extension is needed to complete the remaining work under the contract, as amended. The contractor’s surety will bid out this remaining work. The Forest Preserve’s usual requirements of contractors will apply (e.g. M/WBE, prevailing wage, etc.). The Forest Preserve will approve the contractor selected by the surety. end
