Summary:  The supplementary match will be spent on additional invasive plant management at the site. The partnership agreement was originally approved by the Board of Commissioners on 2/9/2016.

 

FOTFP has received a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Coastal Management Program in the amount of $28,413.78 to support the restoration of sand prairie and sand savanna communities at Powderhorn Prairie and Marsh Nature Preserve. This project will restore 5-acres at Powderhorn Prairie by removing invasive trees that have impacted the natural structure of the site, and managing invasive plants.
