PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Resource Management
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a contract with Trees “R” Us, Wauconda, Illinois.
Reason: Contract #16-31-115 consists of approximately 7.6 acres of tree removal in accordance with the Preserves’ specifications at Somme Nature Preserve in Northbrook, Illinois. The project is being funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which was initially approved by the Board of Commissioners on 1/12/2016. Trees “R” Us was the lowest responsible bidder of the four (4) bidders when adjusted for response to optional items included in the bid.
