PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION

Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a contract with Homer Tree Service, Lockport, Illinois
Reason: Contract #16-31-117 consists of approximately 31 acres of brush removal in accordance with the Preserves’ specifications at Turnbull Woods in Glencoe, Illinois. The project is being partially funded by a grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, which was initially approved by the Board of Commissioners on 10/6/2015. The original lowest bidder, Integrated Lakes Management withdrew their bid. Therefore, the Preserves would like to proceed with Homer Tree Service, the second lowest responsible bidder out of the eight (8) bidders.
