PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION

Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves District of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with GMA Construction Group, Chicago, Illinois to furnish and install water filtration systems at Camp Bullfrog located in Palos Township, Maple Lake Boathouse located in Palos Township, Swallow Cliff Warming Center located in Palos Township, and Camp Shabbona located in Thornton Township.
Reason: 16-80-43-R Water Filtration Systems - Rebid. Work undertaken by this contract will improve the taste and color of the well water at the above mentioned locations is potable and extend the life of pipes and plumbing fixtures. The work includes furnishing and installing reverse osmosis filtrations systems as well as the construction and modification of certain buildings to accommodate these systems and other work as described in the drawings and building specifications. Bids for this project were originally to be opened on 6/24/2016 however only one bid was received at that time. According to the Preserves’ purchasing code that bid was not opened and the project was re-issued for bid. Only a single bid received upon re-bid.
