Request:  requesting authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a Partnership Agreement with Friends of the Forest Preserves (“FOTFP”), Chicago, Illinois.

 

Reason:  FOTFP has received a grant from the Bobolink Foundation in the amount of $172,590.00 to support the Palos Conservation Corps, an internship program that will engage four (4) youth, one (1) adult leader, and one (1) assistant leader in hands-on ecological restoration work to restore over 200 acres in the Palos region. The Palos block represents the largest contiguous natural area within Cook County, and was identified by the Natural and Cultural Resources Master Plan as one of the highest priorities for restoration in the Preserves.

 

The Preserves desires to assist in the engagement of this program by providing funds in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00 in cash and additional in-kind services, bringing the total project cost to $247,590.00.

Fiscal Impact: $75,000.00
