Summary: The Forest Preserve District of Cook County has received a grant from the Morton Arboretum through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (“GLRI”) to fund replanting of trees at the Beaubien Woods and Joe Louis Golf Course, a site that has lost many trees due to impacts from the Emerald Ash Borer (“EAB”).
The total grant amount is $67,166.00, with $37,166.00 having been provided as match by the Preserves via prior EAB tree removal work. end
