Summary: The original project scope was completed by the original completion date. The Forest Preserves would like to amend the contract to perform additional work for an emergency bridge repair at Sundown Meadow on the Arie Crown Trail System. The Forest Preserves received a report from a citizen in November of a collapsed railing on a bridge in Sundown Meadow near Countryside, Illinois. An inspection by Forest Preserve civil engineers revealed more serious erosion of bridge support piers. New emergency work is within OVC’s contract scope for bridge repair work in this region. The estimated cost of work is less than the remaining contingency funds on the contract, so no increase in the contract amount is needed.
