Summary: This project will work with Greencorps Chicago to conduct canopy tree thinning to restore the site’s primary marsh and improve habitat for marshland birds. The project will also engage Wild Indigo Nature Exploration Fellows to conduct community outreach activities and establish volunteers for this site. This project will improve the ecological health of Eggers Woods, grow the Preserves' volunteer base through promotion of nature walks and volunteer workdays at the site, and advance the goals of the Preserves' Next Century Conservation Plan to ensure that native landscapes will thrive for generations to come.
