Summary: Request to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement ("IGA") with the State of Illinois, through its Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission, and the Village of Elk Grove ("Elk Grove") for the purpose of modifying an existing dam structure controlling overflow of the Busse Woods Reservoir. Pursuant to the terms of the IGA, Elk Grove shall be responsible for procuring and coordinating all aspects of the construction of the dam modifications, as well as be responsible for maintaining and operating the same. All plans and proposed improvements also shall be subject to review and approval by the Forest Preserves. The proposed dam modifications, once installed, shall become property of the Forest Preserves. In addition, as part of the IGA, the Forest Preserves intends to provide Elk Grove with a license for ingress and egress for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining the dam structure.
