Title: PROPOSED MISCELLANEOUS ITEM OF BUSINESS Department: Permits, Concessions and Volunteer Services Summary: The Forest Preserves has been awarded an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps Crew (NCCC) that will conduct an Environmental Stewardship and Conservation project in the forest preserves from 4/30/2015 - 6/11/2015, providing more than 1900 hours of volunteer time - a value of more than $43,000.00. AmeriCorps NCCC is a part of AmeriCorps, a network of national and community service programs that engage 75,000 Americans each year in meaningful service work that benefits a broad array of communities. The NCCC crew will focus on activities that improve the ecological health of the forest preserves and support programs that inspire people to form a lasting connection with nature.
