The grant agreement with CCDPH and sub-grant agreement to the Forest Preserves were both approved by the Cook County Health & Hospital Systems (CCDHHS) board on 3/27/2015.
Grant funds will be used to hire consultants to develop an overall Gateway Plan and individual plans for some priority gateway sites (see related Agenda Item 15-0246), plans for safer trail crossings, printed and online maps, other marketing materials, and purchase equipment to count vehicles and trail users. The plan will identify gateway sites where signage and other improvements will encourage people to enter into the forest preserves and engage in healthy physical activity. More details on the scope of work are included in background materials.
