Summary: This IGA was originally approved by the Board on 6/18/2013. This amendment places responsibility for design and/or construction for three dams that have not already been removed as originally identified in the original IGA. The three dams include Chick Evans Golf Course dam and Winnetka Road Dam on the North Branch of the Chicago River and Dempster Dam on the Des Plaines River). IDNR funding would be used to reimburse the Forest Preserves for the preparation of final design plans and specifications, and construction of the dam removals and/or dam modifications. The Forest Preserves would be responsible for managing the dam removal and/or modification projects, including procuring engineering services for the preparation of final design plans and specifications, and for procuring construction contractor services for the removal and/or modification work.
