Title: PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC BE IT ORDAINED, by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners, that Title 4 - Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Chapter 2 - Parking regulations, Section 11 - Parking Meters or Other Devices of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows: Sec. 4-2-11. Parking Meters or Other Devices. A. It shall be unlawful for an unauthorized person to park any vehicle in a designated parking meter zone or space: 1. Without making payment of the amount indicated on the meter or other device, or payment otherwise required, which shall not exceed $5.00 per day; or 2. When payment is made in a manner contrary to the instructions indicated on the meter or other device; 3. To park any vehicle in such zone or space for a period longer than is designated on the meter or other device for the value of the coin or coins deposited in the meter. B. BE IT ORDAINED, by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners, that Title 4 - Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Chapter 2 - Parking regulations, Section 11 - Parking Meters or Other Devices of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows:
 
Sec. 4-2-11.  Parking Meters or Other Devices.
 
A.      It shall be unlawful for an unauthorized person to park any vehicle in a designated parking meter zone or space:
1.      Without making payment of the amount indicated on the meter or other device, or payment otherwise required, which shall not exceed $5.00 per day; or
2.      When payment is made in a manner contrary to the instructions indicated on the meter or other device;
3.      To park any vehicle in such zone or space for a period longer than is designated on the meter or other device for the value of the coin or coins deposited in the meter.
B.      These provisions shall not apply during such hours of the day as designated from time to time by order of the General Superintendent. Any person who violates any part of Subsection A. shall be fined thirty-five dollars ($35.00) for each offense. A separate and distinct offense shall be regarded as committed each four-hour period in which the owner of the vehicle continues or permits any such violation to continue, or fails to make a reasonable effort to comply.
 
      
      Effective date:  This ordinance shall be in effect immediately upon adoption.
