Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE FOREST PRESERVES FOR RECEIVING THE URBAN LAND INSTITUTE'S 2014 VISION AWARD WHEREAS, on June 4, 2014, the Forest Preserves received the Urban Land Institute's 2014 Vision Award for its Camping Master Plan (the Plan); and WHEREAS, the Vision Award honors organizations and individuals who are committed to building sustainable communities, fostering dynamic relationships and innovative problem solving; and WHEREAS, the Plan is important to the Forest Preserves' Centennial goals of connecting more people to nature and the wealth of outdoor recreation and education opportunities available to them at the forest preserves; and WHEREAS, the Plan was recognized for its high standard of excellence in design, economics, construction, marketing and management and for creatively solving complex land use challenges including the preservation of open space; and WHEREAS, the Plan has been recognized as a visionary effort that will contribute to the g...

HONORING THE FOREST PRESERVES FOR RECEIVING THE URBAN LAND INSTITUTE'S 2014 VISION AWARD
 
WHEREAS, on June 4, 2014, the Forest Preserves received  the Urban Land Institute's 2014 Vision Award for its Camping Master Plan (the Plan); and
 
WHEREAS, the Vision Award honors organizations and individuals who are committed to building sustainable communities, fostering dynamic relationships and innovative problem solving; and
 
WHEREAS, the Plan is important to the Forest Preserves' Centennial goals of connecting more people to nature and the wealth of outdoor recreation and education opportunities available to them at the forest preserves; and
 
WHEREAS, the Plan was recognized for its high standard of excellence in design, economics, construction, marketing and management and for creatively solving complex land use challenges including the preservation of open space; and
 
WHEREAS, the Plan has been recognized as a visionary effort that will contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the communities of Cook County; and
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Arnold L. Randall, General Superintendent; Toni Preckwinkle, President; and the Board of Commissioners of the Preserves congratulate the Forest Preserves for this important recognition.
