Request: requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the "Preserves") to enter into a contract with Mack Construction Corporation, Tinley Park, Illinois, for the renovation of the maintenance building at 87th St. & Western Ave. at Dan Ryan Woods in Chicago
Reason: Contract 13-80-01 G5R3 - Rebid is for the Dan Ryan Woods Calumet Visitor's Center. The proposed project is to renovate the existing service building and add a visitor's information center and permit counter and to perform needed building and site improvements and other related work as specified in the plans & specifications.

Alternate Bids were required for a total of six (6) items of which the Preserves desires to include four (4) items in the scope of this contract. The bid recommendation is to award the contract with add alternates #1. Construct a new window in the new meeting room, #2. Construct a new opening with glass between the visitor center and the office, #3. Remove and replace the existing sidewalk around the entire building and, #4. Replace five (5) exterior doors with new doors, frames and hardware.
Estimated Fiscal Impact: $558,800.00
Contract Period: Three Hundred and Thirty (330) days from notice to proceed
