PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Request: requesting authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (the "Preserves") to enter into a contract with Burling Builders, Inc., Chicago Illinois.
Reason: Contract 13-80-01 G3R1 and G3R2 consists of constructing a total of four (4) new pre-engineered buildings at the Thorn Creek Maintenance Division Headquarters, Palos Trails Headquarters and the District's Central Garage. Work includes the construction of two (2) buildings with offices and vehicle storage bays, one (1) building with a multi-stall, high-bay service garage, one (1) large vehicle garage and other related work as specified in the plans & specifications.

Base Bid amounts include costs for the construction of a total of six (6) buildings. Deduct Alternate Bids were requested in the Bid Documents and represent the costs for the construction of a total of four (4) buildings. The Recommended Deduct Alternate Bids respond to the amount of available funding for this contract and address the highest priority buildings as determined by District needs.
