Request: Authorization to apply for grant
Purpose: The Preserves and its partners, including the Field Museum, Audubon Chicago Region, Eden Place Nature Center, and the Chicago Housing Authority, propose to engage in an effort to reactivate Beaubien Woods Forest Preserves. The project proposes to engage the Altgeld Riverdale Community Working Group and other site stakeholders in a community planning process that will identify how to make Beaubien Woods a more appreciated resource for area stakeholders.
Grant Amount: $10,000.00 with matching contributions of $7,500.00 from the Forest Preserve Foundation and $2,500.00 from the National Audubon Society for a total of $20,000.00 that is contingent on the Forest Preserve District Board of approval.
