Summary: The Forest Preserves has been working on updating the electricity at Camp Reinberg's main dining hall building. The project was originally approved by the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners on 7/1/2025 (Board Item No. 25-0214). ComEd requires the Forest Preserves to enter into an Electric Facilities Service Acknowledgment agreement, along with ancillary agreements (collectively, the "Agreements").
Under the Agreements, the installed equipment will be owned by ComEd and the Forest Preserves would be responsible for a monthly rental and other ancillary fees. Payment of such fees would be pursuant to electricity service contracts with ComEd. The Forest Preserves is authorized to pay energy service bills via Board Item No. 25-0296. The continuous term of the Agreements requires board approval; however, the Agreements are terminable by the Forest Preserves if electrical service is discontinued.
The Agreements are form agreements that include rates and non-standard provisions and riders, that can be unilaterally changed by ComEd subject to regulatory approval.
