Summary: This proposed Intergovernmental Agreement with the Authority would allow for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations at five locations: Cermak Aquatic Center (Lyons), George Dunne Golf Course (Oak Forest), Green Lake Aquatic Center (Calumet City), Camp Reinberg (Palatine), and River Trail Nature Center (Northbrook) via the Authority’s Community Charging Program. The total program cost is estimated to be $450,000.00, which includes a 38% contingency due to anticipated market conditions. The Authority will cover up to 80% of the total estimated cost (not to exceed $360,000.00) and the Forest Preserves would cover the remaining 20% (not to exceed $90,000.00). These five (5) EV chargers are in addition to the five (5) EV chargers currently being installed throughout the Forest Preserves with ARPA funds (Board Item Nos. 22-0289 and 24-0245). It is anticipated that once installed, a total of ten (10) EV chargers will be available as an amenity for Forest Preserves patrons. Final intergovernmental agreement is subject to legal review and approval.
