Summary: The Forest Preserves seeks authority to contract with Mowerworks, based on Sourcewell Contract #112624-STIHL with Stihl, Inc., for the purchase of Stihl electric mowers, power equipment, parts, and supplies. The Landscape Maintenance Department would like to purchase eighteen (18) Stihl battery-powered electric riding mowers, power equipment, and parts in 2026, with the ability to purchase additional electric mowers in 2027 and 2028 as the budget allows. The purchase of these zero-emission mowers will enhance mowing operations while reducing operational emissions and supporting progress toward the emissions-reduction targets articulated in the Forest Preserves’ Sustainability & Climate Resiliency Plan. Mowerworks is an authorized local dealer of Stihl Inc., selling grounds maintenance equipment and related attachments.end
