Summary: The Forest Preserves would like to contract with Lakeshore Recycling Systems, LLC to provide disposal sites for both refuse and recycling generated throughout the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves issued a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) for refuse and recycling services at the four regions throughout the Forest Preserves and received two (2) responses. Lakeshore Recycling Systems, LLC submitted a proposal for regions 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Allied Waste Transportation submitted a proposal regarding regions 1, 3, and 4 only. After a comprehensive review of the proposals, an evaluation committee determined that Lakeshore Recycling Systems, LLC presented the most qualified and cost-effective option for the disposal of refuse Districtwide.
