PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
REQUIRING THE REPORTING OF INCIDENTS TO THE FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Cook County Board of Commissioners, that Title 1 - Administrative, Chapter 6 - Forest Preserve District Officers and Employees, Article II - Offenses involving property rights, Sections 1-6-1 General Superintendent is hereby amended as follows:
1-6-1: - GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT.
The General Superintendent shall have full administrative authority in all matters pertaining to the Forest Preserve District, subject to the direction of the President of the Board of Commissioners. The General Superintendent shall notify the Board within 48 hours of any serious incident that occurs within the District. For purposes of this section, a serious incident consists of:
(1) any crime that can be charged as a felony;
(2) any fatality or serious injury to a patron or employee occurring within the District;
(3) serious disturbances targeting patrons or employees of the District;
(4) significant violations of the District’s standards of conduct by patrons or employees;
(5) major weather events or disasters, including major fires; and/or
(6) other incidents as determined by the Superintendent.
Effective date: This ordinance shall be in effect immediately upon adoption.
