Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with Great Lakes Landscape Company, primary place of business Bartlett, Illinois, for construction of a new trail connecting Beaubien Woods Boat Launch to Altgeld Gardens in Chicago, Illinois. 

 

Reason: Contract #74000016702 issued under Solicitation #25-80-012896 for Project #25-80-02, Beaubien Woods – Altgeld Gardens Trail Connection. The work includes, but is not limited to, construction of a new aggregate-surface trail with a box culvert. Work also includes building a temporary hauling road with natural prairie land restoration. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will reimburse up to $315,000.00 of the trail cost as mitigation for impacts from a future 130th Red Line Extension station pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement with the CTA (Board Item No. 23-0520).
