Request:  Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a Partnership Agreement with the Morton Arboretum, Lisle, Illinois.

 

Reason:  The Forest Preserves is seeking authorization to enter into a partnership agreement with Morton Arboretum (“Morton”) to create and implement regional online stewardship training. Morton received a $670,000.00 grant from Tellabs Foundation for the use of creating and implementing online stewardship training for the Chicago Region. The Forest Preserves previously partnered with Morton for similar services in 2018 with the Forest Preserves providing $2,000.00 in cash match funds and in 2019 with the Forest Preserves providing $8,000.00 in cash match funds. The online stewardship training will allow the Forest Preserves’ ecological stewardship volunteers to complete the Path to Stewardship training requirements online and advances the Forest Preserves’ Next Century Conservation Plan goal to certify more stewardship leaders who can help care for the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves proposes to contribute $16,000.00 in cash match for this new contract.
