Summary: The Department of Facilities and Fleet is requesting the authorization to purchase one (1) 2026 Caterpillar Excavator, based on Sourcewell Contract #011723-CAT awarded to Caterpillar Inc., through their authorized local dealer, Altorfer Industries, Inc. The Caterpillar Model 315 Excavator will be utilized throughout the Forest Preserves to support restoration activities, including site preparation, tree planting, structure demolition, converting former farmland into open natural areas and rehabilitating public spaces.
