Title: REPORT Department: Office of the General Superintendent Request: Receive and File Report Title: Conservation and Policy Council Annual Progress Report and 2026 Budget Recommendation Report Period: 1/1/2024 - 12/31/2024 Summary: Each year the Conservation and Policy Council reviews the Forest Preserves of Cook County annual budget proposal and makes a recommendation to the General Superintendent, the President and the Board of Commissioners about the budget and its alignment with the Next Century Conservation Plan. Along with the budget recommendation the Council is also submitting an annual progress report on the implementation of the Next Century Conservation Plan (NCCP). The report describes updates on progress toward goals of the NCCP as they relate to restoration, land acquisition, and engaging people. The annual report of the Conservation and Policy Council is required by Section 1-18-5 of the Forest Preserves' Code of Ordinances.

Summary:  Each year the Conservation and Policy Council reviews the Forest Preserves of Cook County annual budget proposal and makes a recommendation to the General Superintendent, the President and the Board of Commissioners about the budget and its alignment with the Next Century Conservation Plan.
