Summary: The Forest Preserves operates and maintains a multi-use trail that is part of the Des Plaines River Trail System that is adjacent to and crosses Lake Cook Road. Ownership and maintenance of the bridge is currently shared with the Lake County Forest Preserve District (“LCFPD”) pursuant to a 1994 IGA whereby LCFPD has responsibility for the north half and the Forest Preserves of Cook County has responsibility for the south half.
