PROPOSED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (the "Forest Preserves") to enter into a Partnership Agreement with Friends of the Chicago River, Chicago, Illinois.
Reason: Friends of the Chicago River has received a grant in the amount of $248,000.00 to support habitat improvement and repopulation efforts for native fish. The Forest Preserves, Friends of the Chicago River, and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will collaborate to reconnect Mill Creek with the Cal-Sag channel to improve fish passage and breeding in Mill Creek. Work will be conducted at the junction of Mill Creek and the Cal-Sag channel within the McClaughrey Springs Woods Preserve.
The project will be conducted at no direct cost to the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves will contribute staff time and other in-kind services.
