Summary: Metropolitan Industries, Inc. is the sole Cook County authorized distributor of the Pentair Hydromatic pump, proprietary brackets, rails and control panel systems that the Forest Preserves uses in its restrooms. No other pumps and supplied proprietary brackets will fit the rail and discharge system for the Forest Preserves restrooms. After researching the cost and process to redesign these facilities, the Forest Preserves concluded a sole source contract is the most cost-effective option.
