Summary: This Cooperative Services Agreement will enable the USDA to assist the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) with projects and programs such as population management, collection, and monitoring of a variety of mammalian, avian, reptilian and amphibian species in regard to the surveillance of zoonotic and other wildlife borne diseases.
The project will assist the Forest Preserves with implementing and meeting wildlife management objectives which enhance the native biodiversity of the Forest Preserves as well as reduce the risk of wildlife related incidents.
The Forest Preserves has an existing Intergovernmental Cooperative Services Agreement with the USDA which expires 12/31/2019.
