Summary: The Forest Preserves has been using NETfacilities since 2013 for facilities maintenance, fleet maintenance, and inventory control. Facilities and Fleet currently relies on this Computerized Maintenance Management System (“CMMS”) for its daily operations of work order management. The Forest Preserves intends to search for an alternative CMMS system sometime in 2023. However, because it takes time to vet vendors, sign contracts, and migrate data to a new system, this transition to a new CMMS will take at least one (1) year to complete. The Forest Preserves seeks authority to continue using NETfacilities on a sole source basis while it vets, acquires, and implements a new CMMS. This minimum one (1) additional year of using NETfacilities will avoid negatively impacting the normal and daily operations of the Department of Facilities and Fleet.
