Summary: The Department of Facilities and Fleet received permission from the Vehicle Steering Committee on 6/3/2025 to decommission fifty-three (53) Forest Preserves vehicles due to age, high mileage, and condition and purchase new replacement vehicles. Twenty-six (26) replacement vehicles were approved by the Board of Commissioners for purchase in July of this year (Board Item Nos. 25-0257, 25-0261, and 25-0262). This purchase involves nine (9) additional replacement vehicles, which will be assigned as follows: eight (8) to the Department of Resource Management and one (1) to the Department of Landscape Maintenance. This purchase request is based on Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Request for Proposals/Contract #225 and #227 with Sutton Ford, Inc.
