Summary: On May 21, 2019, the Forest Preserves Board of Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement with ISTC (Board Item No. 19-0267). Under the 2019 agreement, ISTC advised the Forest Preserves on the implementation of the Sustainability and Climate Resiliency Plan and the Net Zero GHG Emissions goal. Both the plan and the Net Zero Emissions goal were approved by the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners via Board Item No. 18-0313 and Board Item No. 19-0128, respectively.
The Forest Preserves of Cook County would like to continue its intergovernmental arrangement with ISTC via a new agreement, under which ISTC shall: (1) update the Sustainability & Climate Resiliency Master Plan (the “Plan”); (2) support staff in the implementation of the Plan, and the 2021 Clean Energy Framework and Action Plan; and (3) support staff in various other sustainability related trainings, data analysis, and reports.
