Summary: This is an amendment for an extension of time only. Contract #16-31-115 consists of approximately 7.6 acres of tree removal in accordance with the Forest Preserves’ specifications at Somme Nature Preserve in Northbrook, Illinois. The project is being funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The contract was initially extended for six (6) months through 4/30/2018 to account for the work being postponed due to inadequate weather and ground conditions. The work is substantially complete, but ground conditions over the winter season continued to be suboptimal and a small portion of work remains. The Forest Preserves is requesting an additional twelve (12) month contract extension to perform the work.
