Summary: The Public Group, LLC has provided a public web-base, online auction system for the Forest Preserves since 2022 after the use of their services was first approved by the Board of Commissioners on March 15, 2022 (Board Item No. 22-0169). The Public Group, LLC currently generates revenue for the Forest Preserves by advertising and helping complete the sale of various decommissioned vehicles and surplus items on behalf of the Forest Preserves. The decommissioning of vehicles is subject to approval of the Vehicle Steering Committee.
This contract is the result of a Comparable Government Procurement. The Public Group, LLC was previously awarded a contract by the City of Tucson, Arizona through a competitive Request for Proposal process, and the Forest Preserves’ contract extension would align with the underlying contract extension through March of 2027.
