Summary: The Forest Preserves seeks authorization to enter into a three-year sole-source membership agreement with ICLEI USA – Local Governments for Sustainability, U.S.A., Inc. (“ICLEI USA”) for membership services from December 2026 through November 2029. The Forest Preserves has been a member of this organization since 2025. The $20,000 contract value includes the 3-year membership dues, as well as the option to purchase additional add-on features for technical capabilities and assistance during the contract’s term.
ICLEI USA provides specialized tools and technical assistance tailored specifically for local governments advancing sustainability, climate action, resilience, greenhouse gas emissions accounting management, and nature-based solutions. These capabilities, including access to the ClearPath emissions reporting and forecasting platform, technical assistance hours, and a national network of peer governments, are uniquely suited to meet the Forest Preserves’ sustainability and management objectives and cannot be replicated by other organizations.
