PROPOSED AGREEMENT

 

Vendor:  Chicago River Canoe & Kayak, Evanston, Illinois

 

Request:  Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (“the Preserves”) to enter into an agreement

 

Reason:  The Preserves requested proposals through its online bidding process. The selected Vendor, Chicago River Canoe & Kayak, was deemed the most responsive and responsible of three (3) respondents to operate the Skokie Lagoons boating facility, which will offer canoe and kayak rentals along with lessons to the general public. Chicago River Canoe & Kayak has operated the Skokie Lagoons boating facility since 2009 and presented the strongest financial package and management plan for the coming term. The final agreement will be subject to review and approval by the Preserves’ Legal Department.

 

In previous terms, Chicago River Canoe & Kayak paid the Preserves $14,000.00 on an annual basis. Chicago River Canoe & Kayak has agreed to pay the Preserves the following annual fee per year in addition to 5% of gross sales:

 

Year 1: $17,000.00

 

Year 2: $17,000.00

 

Year 3: $19,000.00

 

Year 4: $19,000.00

 

 

Contract period: Forty Eight (48) months from the issuance of the Purchase Order

 

Estimated Fiscal Impact: Revenue Generating, $72,000.00 + 5% of gross sales
