PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION

Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Preserves”) to enter into a contract with Central Tree LLC, Hoffman Estates, Illinois
Reason: Contract #16-31-116 consists of approximately 100 acres of brush removal at Crabtree Nature Center to improve habitat for native bird species. The project is being funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which was initially approved by the Board of Commissioners on 10/6/2015. The original low bidder, Semper Fi Land Services, was deemed nonresponsive as per the bid specifications. Therefore, the Preserves would like to proceed with Central Tree LLC, the second lowest responsible bidder of the nine (9) bidders.
